Job Summary
Assist classroom teachers in achieving instructional objectives by reinforcing learning objectives with individuals or small groups and providing programmed practice activities. Guide independent study, assist with large and small group activities, and monitor students to keep them on task while helping maintain order and establishing behavior standards. Report student problems to teachers and assist with student routines during unstructured times like lunch, recess, and transitions. Also support loading and unloading buses and take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities. This role supports the Sandusky Middle School's Special Education Adaptive Curriculum team.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or career technical facility, or an Associate's Degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro assessment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children
