Job Summary
Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individuals or small groups; tutor individuals or small groups, reinforce and implement instruction, and monitor/report student progress. Participate as a member of an instructional team, prepare and organize lessons, administer and score tests, assist in determining English proficiency, monitor and report behavior, perform routine clerical duties, operate audiovisual and educational equipment, maintain classroom records, contact parents when needed, ensure health and safety, and participate in meetings and in-service training. Requires high school diploma or GED (or demonstrated progress toward GED) and successful completion of paraeducator test or 64 college credit hours. Salary schedule available HERE.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
- Some experience in working with children in an organized setting
- Paraeducator test required or documentation of 64 college credit hours
