Job Summary
Assist a certificated teacher in providing instruction to preschool students; tutor individuals or small groups, reinforce and implement instruction, and monitor/report student progress. Prepare and organize lessons, administer and score tests, assist in determining English proficiency, administer diagnostic tests, and manage classroom records. Perform routine clerical duties, operate AV and instructional equipment, distribute supplies, supervise students in labs and during activities, and participate in meetings and in-service trainings. Communicate with teachers, parents, and staff; maintain health and safety standards; coordinate with remediation teams and instructional staff to meet student needs.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law
- some experience in working with children in an organized setting
- 48 hours of college coursework OR an associates degrees OR successful completion of KY Paraeducator Exam
