Job Summary
Instructional Assistant - Preschool responsible for supporting the classroom teacher by working with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning objectives and individual IEP goals. Duties include guiding independent study and enrichment activities, checking and grading class work, assisting substitutes, coordinating with the teacher on student needs, supervising lunch/recess, assisting with setup and use of assistive technology, and helping with bus arrival/departure and daily routines such as wash-up and diaper changes. Requires high school diploma (or equivalent), First Aid/CPR certification, background and fingerprint clearance, ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and 25 hours/week in-person at Katherine Mecham Barney Elementary under Queen Creek Unified School District policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must have, or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certification
- Must pass a background clearance
- Must obtain an Arizona IVP Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods
- Six months of child care experience if working with enrolled children five years old and younger
- Term of Employment: 181 Days; 9 Months
- HOURS: 25 hours per week - Monday-Friday 1:15 a.m.-6:15 p.m.
- CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt
- Excellent attendance record
