Job Summary
Provide developmentally appropriate instruction across oral language, early literacy, early math, and social-emotional domains under licensed staff direction. Plan inquiry-based learning programs using varied instructional techniques to meet individual student needs. Collaborate with families, staff, and partner agencies to support children's growth, establish open communication lines, and connect families to resources. Assist children in small groups and activities including arrival, departure, play, meals, and personal care. Prepare instructional materials, implement curriculum, maintain accurate records, and conduct developmental screenings. Recruit eligible children and implement family engagement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- Satisfactorily perform the requirements of the position as described in the job description
- Knowledge of early childhood learning, development and social/ emotional growth
- Possess the emotional and physical stamina to perform duties as required by the designated task except for temporary disability
- Successful completion of a required educational program related to assignment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks as appropriate
- Demonstration of ability to manage student behavior and maintain an environment conducive to learning
- Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including [communities of color], in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a preschool setting desirable
- Spanish speaking preferred
- Familiarity with Reggio Emilia-inspired, inquiry-based approaches to early childhood education preferred
