Job Summary
Instructional Assistant III for 6 hours/day (0.75 FTE) to support severely/emotionally disturbed students; candidates should have experience or training with ED, autism, or related developmental needs, proficiency in group instruction, and coursework in child development; role may require obtaining a California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire; duties include assisting in classrooms, supporting individual students, and collaborating with a Behaviorist and school staff; position is part-time at Ralph Richardson Center (SJUSD) with 6-hour workday, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–2:30 PM; required documents include exam scores or transcripts showing two years of college or an AA degree or higher.
Required Qualifications
- Instructional Assistant IIIs support students who are severely emotionally disturbed (ED).
- Experience or training with students with Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs, including ED class or autism class.
- Experience with groups of children; willingness or experience with impaired children or adults is desirable; coursework in child development is highly desirable.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire, a California Class C Driver License if driving equipment/vehicles requiring this license.
