Job Summary
Implement individualized instruction and behavior plans for students in special education programs across classroom, community, and work-based settings. Deliver academic, functional, and social-emotional support in one-on-one and small-group formats while assisting teachers with tailored instructional strategies. Supervise students to ensure safety and engagement, providing personal care support including feeding, hygiene, and mobility as needed. Assist with IEP implementation, team meetings, assessment, and recordkeeping while participating in ongoing professional development. This role directly impacts student independence and dignity within a collaborative team environment focused on inclusive education.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associate's degree or 2 years of college coursework, or ability to pass a district academic and instructional support assessment
- First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain)
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience working in special education or supporting individuals with disabilities
