Job Summary
Responsible for assisting teacher(s) in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning educational environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources, under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher, as applicable to the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) programs. This role emphasizes supporting students with special education needs, administering required trainings, and ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements while facilitating instructional activities within the school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in Education or related field
- 60 semester hours of college/university coursework from an accredited institution
- Qualifying score on ParaPro Assessment (a condition of employment may be considered for qualified applicants)
- Satisfactory completion of required trainings including Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, First Aid, Medication administration, CPI
- CPR and First Aid training must be updated every two years; CPI training kept current
