Job Summary
Assist teachers in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning educational environment for students in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) programs under direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher. Support the instructional program and available resources to ensure students can take full advantage of educational opportunities. Complete required trainings within six months, including Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, First Aid, medication administration, and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), with CPR and First Aid renewed biennially and CPI kept current. Meet all mandated federal and state health requirements and pass the ParaPro Assessment. Work 189 days per year at Woodland Elementary School in Zephyrhills, FL, as a Full-Time, Benefit Eligible School Related Personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, or related field
- 60 semester hours of college/university level course work from an accredited institution
- Obtain qualifying score to pass the ParaPro Assessment
- Satisfactory completion of Pediatric First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
- Satisfactory completion of First Aid training
- Satisfactory completion of Medication administration training
- Satisfactory completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
- CPR and First Aid training completed every two years
- CPI training kept current and renewed on a regular basis
- Meet all mandated federal and state health requirements
- Pass Level II background screening
