Job Summary
Responsible for assisting teacher(s) in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning educational environment under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher, in the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and DJJ programs. Requires supporting students with instructional needs, completing required trainings (Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, First Aid, CPI, medication administration), and meeting health and background screening requirements. Emphasis on collaboration with teachers to support ESE students in a Pasco County school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Education or related field OR 60 semester hours OR qualify on ParaPro Assessment
- Satisfactory completion of required trainings within 6 months: Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, First Aid, Medication administration, CPI
- CPR and First Aid training must be kept current every two years; CPI training kept current
- Background screening: Level II background screening through Florida Care Provider Clearinghouse
