Job Summary
Assist teachers in providing a well-organized educational environment for students in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) and Department of Juvenile Justice programs under direct supervision. Support instructional delivery and manage available resources to ensure students take full advantage of the program. Complete required training including Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, First Aid, medication administration, and Crisis Prevention Intervention within six months, with CPR and First Aid renewed biennially. Maintain current status for all mandated federal and state health requirements. Work 189 days per year at Seven Oaks Elementary School in Wesley Chapel, FL.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an accredited institution in the field of Education, or related field
- 60 semester hours of college/university level course work from an accredited institution
- Obtain qualifying score to pass the ParaPro Assessment
- Satisfactory completion of Pediatric First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
- Satisfactory completion of First Aid training
- Satisfactory completion of Medication administration training
- Satisfactory completion of Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training
- CPR and First Aid training completed every two years
- CPI training kept current and renewed on a regular basis
- Meet all mandated federal and state health requirements
- Pass Level II background screening
