Job Summary
Support the instructional program for Exceptional Children by collaborating with classroom teachers to work with small groups, assist identified students with intervention or enrichment, and maintain related records. Conduct assessments under teacher supervision to evaluate instructional needs; organize and prepare instructional materials; supervise students during class, lunch, recess, and field trips; participate in meetings and professional development; adhere to policies and protect student confidentiality. Provide support to students with special needs, adapt tasks to meet IEP goals, and help students develop life skills to achieve independence after graduation.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or equivalent
- Experience working in an educational environment (substitute teaching, tutoring, etc.)
