Job Summary
Provide individual and small group supplementary instruction to Multilingual Learner students based on individualized instructional plans. Support access to academic programming by delivering supplemental English acquisition services and assisting teachers in preparing lesson materials and arranging classroom environments. Supervise students in playgrounds, cafeteria, and bus stop areas while maintaining orderly work spaces. Instruct students in computer-related programs under teacher or administrator direction and assist in maintaining student records. This role collaborates with ML and content teachers to improve English language proficiency across academic and arts curriculum areas.
Required Qualifications
- Meets MSDE standards of Highly Qualified by possessing an Associate's Degree, 48 college credits, or successful completion of state/local assessment
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff and parents (using appropriate grammar) in both oral or written form
- Ability to maintain students' discipline in a variety of school/program settings
- Ability to use a computer
