Job Summary
Conduct small reading groups under teacher direction and assist with supervision duties as needed. Support elementary students with math, spelling, reading, and English usage while demonstrating the ability to discipline with dignity. Take initiative to work with small children and utilize good computer skills for daily tasks. Requires two years of college coursework or an Associate's Degree, a high school diploma, and fingerprinting. Bilingual and biliterate candidates are encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Able to work with small children
- Proficient in elementary school level math, spelling, reading and English usage
- Good computer skills
- Ability to take initiative and be self-directed
- Ability to conduct small reading groups under teacher direction
- Ability to discipline with dignity
- Must qualify or be able to meet standard for highly qualified para-professional
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Person filling this position will have to be fingerprinted
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of college coursework or Associate's Degree (May be waived pending successful performance on skills test administered by the District)
