Job Summary
Instructional Assistant role supporting students in small groups and individually with lesson assignments. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, positive classroom environment, monitoring students during classroom, library, and playground activities, assisting with art, literacy, and fine motor activities, handling clerical duties (record keeping, typing, and using instructional media/equipment), and building cooperative relationships with parents, students, and teachers. Requires high school diploma or GED, prior school/treatment setting experience, DOJ/FBI Live Scan and TB clearance, strong English communication, reliability, flexibility, and 18+ years old; preferred certifications include Pro-ACT, CPI, and CPR.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Experience in a school or treatment setting
- DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance required
- Proficient with standard software applications and the internet
- Strong written and verbal English communication
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Reliability, dependability, and flexibility
- Knowledge of child growth and development and child behavior characteristics
- Preferred: Pro-ACT, CPI intervention training, CPR certification
