Job Summary
Support classroom systems, manage student behavior, and implement lesson plans aligned with California State Standards and Aspire guidelines. Assess students regularly, analyze data, and collaborate with teachers to improve instructional practices. Assist with differentiated instruction for diverse needs, including parallel teaching and small group work, while helping track student records and attendance. Teach or co-teach Advisory classes and lead after-school intervention programs for students below grade level. Identify unique learning challenges and work with outside providers to address them. Maintain high expectations for college preparation by supporting academic progress and application processes. Participate in professional development and pursue teacher credentialing.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or successful completion of 48 units of college credit
- Passing of Paraprofessional Test
- 1+ year working with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant
- Clear the Department of Justice background screening
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Provide health (TB) clearance
