Job Summary
Monitor individual and groups of students in classroom and playground settings to ensure a safe environment. Assist teachers and parents in implementing lesson plans, setting up schedules, and managing large and small group activities. Perform record-keeping duties including recording test results, copying materials, and maintaining student files. Maintain classroom equipment and supplies while consulting daily with the teacher on student problems and special information. Administer tests, supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods, and field trips, and contact parents when requested. Work under the supervision of the principal with a salary of $22.50-$25.00/hr.
Required Qualifications
- Work experience in a school setting with students
- Must possess organization, communication and problem solving skills
- Must pass a DOJ background check
- Must be willing to create and follow through with individualized professional development plan
- Ability to demonstrate skills in development of academic activities
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- High level of communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong initiative and ability to solve problems
- Ability to regularly use finger dexterity
- Ability to sustain in various weather conditions
- Ability to access and navigate various facilities within the multiple school site network
- Occasional lifting of objects up to twenty pounds
Desired Qualifications
- BA Degree preferred, but not absolutely necessary
