Job Summary
Assist a certificated teacher by providing instruction to individuals or small groups and by supporting routine classroom operations; responsibilities include tutoring, administering and scoring tests, monitoring student progress and behavior, preparing instructional materials, coordinating with teachers and parents, and ensuring health and safety during classroom activities. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent), and at least 64 college hours or have passed the Kentucky Para-educators Exam, with experience supporting students in educational settings and performing clerical duties to maintain records and materials.
Required Qualifications
- Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law
- 64 college hours or pass the Kentucky Para-educators Exam
- Demonstrated experience working with children in an organized setting
