Job Summary
Assist students with disabilities in accessing the general education curriculum by clarifying content, supporting assignments, and reinforcing accommodations under supervision. Reinforce classroom expectations, implement behavior intervention plans, and provide positive behavioral support while monitoring student progress and participation. Supervise students during instruction, hallways, lunch, and transitions to ensure safety, and collaborate with general and special education staff to promote independence. Attend ARD meetings when requested to maintain confidentiality of student information. This role supports inclusion practices within Sheldon ISD classrooms.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 48 college hours, associate degree, or passing score on the Paraprofessional Assessment of Academic Skills
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification
