Job Summary
Provide individualized instructional support and behavioral guidance to students in a K-12 special education setting, collaborating with classroom teachers to implement IEP goals, monitor progress, and ensure instructional fidelity. Support includes conducting engaging, tailored instruction and behavioral interventions in both classroom and community settings, documenting student performance, communicating with staff and families, and maintaining confidentiality. Must have or be able to obtain a CA driver license, crisis management certification, and relevant paraprofessional credentials; experience with autism, learning disabilities, and other developmental/behavioral needs is preferred. The role emphasizes student-centered collaboration, documentation, reporting, and active participation in accreditation-related activities, with a focus on teamwork, organization, and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent w/ passage of basic skills test
- Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field preferred
- CA state driver's license required or ability to obtain
- Crisis management training certification or ability to obtain
- Paraprofessional/Teaching assistant credential preferred
- Prior experience providing instruction or support to children in special education or behavioral health contexts
- Proficiency with instruction and behavioral support strategies for students with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and related disabilities
- Ability to drive/assist with transportation for students (company van) before/after school
