Job Summary
Instructional Aide for Spectrum Center Schools and Programs (ChanceLight) to support students in a K-12 Special Education program. Responsibilities include collaborating with teachers to create a welcoming learning environment, implementing individualized instruction and behavioral interventions on-site and in community settings, monitoring and supporting student progress, managing behavior in alignment with school policies, documenting observations and preparing behavioral reports, maintaining confidentiality, and participating in assurance and accreditation activities. The role involves assisting with instruction, guidance, and the development of essential skills across academic, vocational, leisure, domestic, and social domains, with emphasis on supporting students with diverse learning needs and implementing IEP goals. Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, CA driver’s license eligibility, crisis management training certification, and experience or credentialing appropriate to paraprofessional/teaching assistant roles. Proficiency in communication, organization, problem solving, and use of instructional technology is valued.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with passage of basic skills test.
- Associate degree or higher in education or a closely related field of study preferred.
- Hold currently or have the ability to obtain a CA state driver's license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in company approved crisis management training.
- Licensed currently or in the process of obtaining a paraprofessional, paraeducator, teaching assistant or similar credential preferred.
