Job Summary
Support Special Education teacher by assisting with the educational and social development of students with disabilities; implement IEP/ARD/REED processes; assist in scheduling and coordinating assessments; maintain student records and reports (IEP Report Cards, general report cards); collaborate with related professionals (speech therapists, social workers, OTs/PTs); assist in planning resources and materials; communicate with parents and administrators; support RTI processes and behavior management; manage multiple priorities and adapt to district/ campus changes; after-hours state tutorials may be required; must meet education requirements and have experience with students or parents as approved; proficiency in teaching curriculum software and data interpretation; ensure compliance with state mandated assessments and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a high school graduate or hold a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
- Experience working with students or parents as approved by the employing superintendent
- Have satisfied ONE of the following requirements: 1) Have three creditable years of experience as either an Educational Aide I or II; 2) Have 30 semester hours of college credit with some emphasis on child growth and development or related subject areas; 3) Completion of an Education Service Center Instructional Aide certification course
