Job Summary
Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional providing instructional, clerical, and supervisory support in classrooms under licensed teachers and building administrators; assists with classroom operations, materials preparation, student engagement, and supervision to promote a well-managed, inclusive learning environment; promotes equitable access to instructional content and supports school-wide events; requires Ohio paraprofessional license or eligibility, HS diploma (Associate degree preferred); proficiency with Excel/Word/PowerPoint; CPR/First Aid and relevant training; background check required; 7 hours per day, 5 days per week over 184 days per school year; .875 FTE at Lakota Local School District in West Chester, OH.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate degree preferred
- Ohio Paraprofessional License or eligibility for certification through the Ohio Department of Education
- Successful completion of applicable training (e.g., CPR/First Aid, Crisis Prevention as required)
- Minimum of 48 semester hours of college coursework under ESSA for Title 1 funding
- Prior experience working with students or in school settings preferred
- Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, Internet, and PowerPoint
- Experience operating office and media equipment
- FBI/BCII criminal background check requirement
