Job Summary

Provide complex support processes to the instructional program by assisting and designing daily care for students with significant learning challenges. Implement instructional plans, observe and document academic and emotional progress, and address special health care needs including first aid, toileting, and medication administration. Collaborate with teachers to adapt activities, administer assessments, and manage behavior intervention plans while maintaining accurate records and supervising students during all school activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Instructional Aide II certification
  • Associate's Degree (or higher)
  • 48 college credits
  • Pass the approved assessment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance
  • Job-related experience
  • Basic math skills, including calculations using fractions, percents, and ratios
  • Ability to read manuals, write documents, present information, and solve practical problems
  • Understanding instructional procedures and practices, age-appropriate student activities, safety practices, conflict resolution, and stages of child development/behavior
  • Ability to schedule activities, gather and classify data, and consider various factors when using equipment
  • Ability to work flexibly with others, manage data using defined processes, and operate equipment using standardized methods
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities, communicate with diverse groups, maintain confidentiality, solve problems, and handle crisis situations
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and manage constant interruptions
  • Ability to work under direct supervision using standardized routines
  • Ability to lead, guide, and coordinate others
  • Ability to operate within a defined budget
  • Ability to utilize resources from other work units as needed
  • Ability to have a continual impact on the organization's services
  • Ability to perform job functions that require significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, some climbing and balancing, and significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity
