Job Summary
Support students with disabilities daily by providing ongoing assistance in general or special education classrooms, monitoring progress, and building positive mentoring relationships. Act as a role model under Student Services direction, filling in for absent aides or supporting other building needs based on student and program requirements. Maintain Act 34 and 151 clearances and an FBI registration number. Positions are available at the elementary, middle, and high school levels with a calendar following the student schedule. This role is not benefits eligible. The Lower Merion School District seeks diverse candidates reflecting varied sociocultural identities.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Act 34 clearances
- Act 151 clearances
- FBI registration number
Desired Qualifications
- 60 or more relevant college credits
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- Experience in a classroom setting
- Teacher certification
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, administrators
- Ability to track and monitor student progress using prescribed process
- Ability to build positive, mentoring relationship with students to enhance student progress
- Ability to follow specific directions consistently and completely
- Ability to act as an appropriate role model for students
