Job Summary
Instructional Aide role supporting elementary students in a special education program. Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized instruction and behavioral interventions aligned with IEP goals, monitor progress, document student behaviors and performance, and assist in preparing behavioral reports and activity logs. Maintain confidentiality, participate in assurance/accreditation activities, and engage with families to support student needs. Requires high school diploma or equivalent with basic skills test; associate degree or higher preferred; paraprofessional credential preferred; crisis management training certification preferred. On-site position based in Fort Smith, AR. Competitive hourly rate ($15-$16) for the 2026-2027 school year.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- passage of basic skills test
- Associate degree or higher preferred
- Licensed paraprofessional/education assistant credential preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification
- Prior experience providing instruction/guidance to children, preferably in special education/behavioral health program
- Knowledge of working with children with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional behavioral disorders
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite
