Job Summary
Install access control, IP camera, and alarm systems according to engineered drawings, then troubleshoot, test, and perform corrective maintenance on electronic devices and network components. Independently manage all aspects of installed systems, including programming, door hardware installation, and reading schematics. Communicate project updates to the Project Manager or Field Supervisor, complete job ticket paperwork, and maintain a safe, clean working environment and company vehicle. Travel up to 80% as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or state-recognized equivalent
- Minimum 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security environment
- Knowledgeable of security equipment systems (i.e., intrusion detection, assessment, and access control)
- Capable of installing and maintaining various alarms, access control, and assessment system devices
- Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, stand for extended periods, work extended hours, and travel independently
- Ability to obtain required state low-voltage/security licenses as required
- Ability to obtain and retain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
- DCJS Certified
- Travel up to 80% as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control
- Certifications in American Dynamics, Genetec, Exacq
- Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks
- Experience troubleshooting network switches
- Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings
- Experienced in the marking up, or 'red lining' of drawings post install
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers
- Strong work ethic and teamwork; 'can do' attitude and desire to provide best service. Strong interpersonal and communicative Skills
- Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner
