Job Summary
Installation Technician role performing automotive repair and maintenance services including Tire Services, Oil Changes, Under hood Services (Batteries, Filters, Bulbs, Wipers, etc.), Multi-point Vehicle Inspections (MPIs), Wheel Alignments and Preventive Maintenance. Responsibilities include ensuring safe work practices, initiating and displaying Service Work Orders, completing MPIs prior to service, returning parts to the desk team, maintaining safety and quality standards, achieving a minimum productivity rate, completing required training and certifications (LMS, Safe Equipment Operation, and ASE certifications G1, A4, A5; State Inspection License), and supporting the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process. The role requires reading and interpreting technical instructions, communicating vehicle information to customers, diagnosing basic automotive issues, and maintaining ASE certification status. The position operates in an indoor service department with exposure to varying conditions and requires protective eyewear. The standard work week is 5 days and 40 hours, with hourly/non-exempt employment status.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
