Job Summary
Install wireless and electronic communications systems by physically mounting data cabling, supporting commissioning of low voltage networks, and performing site walks to determine installation requirements for customer proposals. Diagnose and repair two-way radio, CCTV, security alarms, and RF signal distribution systems using hand tools, power drills, and test equipment. Recommend appropriate hardware to meet customer needs while maintaining OSHA safety standards and working in varied environments including ladders, crawl spaces, and extreme temperatures. Some regional or overnight travel and on-call hours may be required. Extensive on-the-job training is provided to advance technical capabilities and cover certification fees.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma
- Must physically be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions (e.g., climbing ladders and scaffolding, crawl spaces, high-reach lift equipment, exposure to elements)
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must have basic computer skills and proficiency with MS Excel, Word and Outlook
- Must be able to use basic tools and test equipment including hand tools, power drills, multi-meters, and watt meters
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, keep up with work schedules, work under pressure and be able to meet deadlines for delivering quality solutions on time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions (e.g., climbing ladders and scaffolding, crawl spaces, high-reach lift equipment, exposure to elements)
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., maneuver into and out of heavy equipment and work on ladders and other elevated locations including at times standing for extended periods, and occasionally working outside in extreme temperatures
Desired Qualifications
- Basic Electronics Background
- Competent Operating Basic Hand and Power Tools
- Familiarity With Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Experience Reading Blueprints and/or Logic Diagrams
- Data Cabling Experience (CAT 5/6, Coaxial, Fiber, Support Devices, etc.)
- OSHA Safety Training and Low Voltage Certifications
- Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Installation
- Experience installing CAT 5/6 cable, related support devices, and terminating coaxial cable
- Experience installing communication systems in buildings, DAS (Distributed Antenna System)
- Installation and/or repair experience in either two-way radio, CCTV, security alarms, RF signal distribution, broadband, and low voltage systems
- Ability to understand basic wiring diagrams and basic DC circuit theory
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, keeping up with work schedules, work under pressure and be able to meet deadlines for delivering quality solutions on time
