Job Summary
The Installation Technician performs automotive tire services, oil changes, and under-hood maintenance (batteries, filters, bulbs, wipers), plus multipoint inspections and preventive maintenance. Responsibilities include ensuring safety as the top priority, initiating and displaying Service Work Orders, completing MPIs, supporting the 5-for-5 customer engagement process, obtaining parts through the Desk Team, returning unused parts, and maintaining a clean, safe shop. The role requires technical capability to diagnose basic automotive problems, communicate clearly with customers, stay current with required certifications (ASE G1, A4, A5, State Inspection License, Equipment Safety Certification), and participate in ongoing training. The standard schedule is five days and 40 hours per week, with hourly, non-exempt employment classification.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
