Job Summary
Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling including Cat5e/Cat6, coaxial, and fire-rated cable per industry standards and local codes. Mount and configure cameras, card readers, door hardware, motion detectors, control panels, and notification appliances. Program system software, controllers, and head-end equipment while performing commissioning, end-user training, and final walk-throughs. Read blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and riser drawings to coordinate with general contractors, electricians, and other trades on job sites. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely, professional manner while maintaining accurate documentation including as-built drawings and service reports.
Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience installing at least one of the following: CCTV/Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intrusion Alarm, or Fire Alarm systems
- Strong knowledge of low voltage wiring practices, NEC standards, and applicable local/state codes
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, work on ladders, and perform physical tasks in various environments
- Professional appearance and strong communication skills for client-facing interactions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with multiple system types (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, and/or Fire Alarm)
- Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Axis, Genetec, Milestone, Honeywell, Bosch, DMP, Lenel, HID)
- NICET certification (Fire Alarm) or ESA/NTS certification
- Experience with IP-based/networked security systems and basic networking knowledge
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
