Job Summary
Perform installation tasks on AVI-SPL contracted projects including cable pulls, terminations, system equipment, rack systems, and metal fabrication per project directives. Read electronic schematics and architectural blueprints, use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors, and assist with basic mechanical fabrication and rack wiring. Coordinate with the Lead Technician to ensure projects meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction requirements. Travel to various job sites and manage security of equipment and tools on jobsites. Maintain a valid driver's license and meet driving privileges standards. Work in construction or field environments with frequent standing, walking, bending, and overhead work.
Required Qualifications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Customer service oriented with a focus on client satisfaction
- Basic understanding of audio-visual systems, including projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing equipment, digital signage, and control systems
- Basic proficiency in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (e.g., HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic), and experience with conduit runs, cable trays, and other wiring methods
- Basic ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with audiovisual equipment and systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
- Basic understanding of network infrastructure and how it integrates with audiovisual systems (e.g., IP-based systems, streaming, cloud-based services)
- Ability to work and think independently and meet deadlines
- Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL Driving Privileges standards
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required
Desired Qualifications
- Formal education in Electronics or related field
- Ability to obtain formal approved clearances (Government or system specific) may be required
