Job Summary
Installation Technician responsible for automotive tire services, oil changes, under-hood services, multi-point inspections, wheel alignments, and preventive maintenance. Ensures safe, compliant service, proper work orders and documentation, customer engagement, and adherence to VIP safety and quality standards. Requires ASE/G1/A4/A5 familiarity or certification, state-inspection licensing, and ongoing training. Working conditions include an indoor shop with exposure to weather and shop hazards; standard schedule is 5 days/40 hours weekly.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions and procedures
- Ability to diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems
- Ability to communicate vehicle information to customers
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program (recommended)
- One year of related automotive service experience (minimum)
- Current, valid driver’s license
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE G1 – Maintenance and light repair (recommended)
- ASE A4 – Suspension & Steering (recommended)
- ASE A5 – Brakes (recommended)
- State Vehicle Inspector license (state-specific)
Desired Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
- Becoming a Licensed State Vehicle Inspector (state-specific requirement)
- T.I.A basic automotive tire service (BATS) certified and T.I.A. advanced TPMS certified
- Possession of ASE certifications related to tire service and maintenance as listed
- Attendance at LMS training and required safety training
