Job Summary
Installation Technician responsible for performing HVACR installation jobs across industrial, commercial, and residential customers. Emphasizes decisiveness, initiative, tact, judgment, integrity, dependability, and clear, technically credible communication with customers, technicians, the Installation Manager, estimator, and parts runner. Representative duties include joining ad hoc Installation Department teams to install HVACR systems efficiently, performing routine installation activities with minimal direct oversight, training new installations staff, and conducting point-of-work sales for Indoor Air Quality services and related components. Also performs non-installation support for IAQ and Service Departments as assigned, and undertaking related duties as directed by the Installation Manager. Requires a high school diploma and a post-secondary HVACR program of at least two years, plus three+ years of full-time HVAC experience, strong reading comprehension for installation instructions, and the ability to communicate with diverse customers and team members. Must have an operator’s license and be insurable by the company carrier. Must be able to work under varying weather conditions, with non-standard schedules, and time pressures, and possess initiative for ongoing professional development and sales techniques.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate
- graduate of a post-secondary HVACR program of instruction of two or more years
- Three or more years of HVAC experience
- read and apply manufacturers' installation instructions
- clearly communicate with residential, commercial, and industrial customers
- Current (state) operator's license and ability to operate all types of vehicles in the corporate fleet within 30 days of initial employment
