Job Summary
Installation Technician in Calais, ME performs automotive repair and maintenance services including Tire Services, Oil Changes, Under-hood Services (Batteries, Filters, Bulbs, Wipers, etc.), Multi-point Vehicle Inspections (MPIs), Wheel Alignments and Preventive Maintenance. Ensures a valid Service Work Order is initiated and displayed during service, completes MPIs and participates in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement Process, and returns all paperwork and unused parts to the Desk Team. Maintains shop safety and adheres to VIP quality standards and loss-prevention programs; completes required training and certification, including ASE G1, A4, and A5 as well as becoming a State Vehicle Inspector per state requirements. The standard schedule is five days and 40 hours per week; the role requires reading and interpreting technical instructions, diagnosing basic automotive problems, communicating vehicle information to customers, and maintaining ASE certifications status. Protective equipment usage and a clean, safe shop environment are emphasized; the role is non-exempt and hourly.
Required Qualifications
- One year of related experience in automotive service field
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification A4 – Suspension & Steering
- ASE Certification A5 – Brakes
- State Inspection License
