Job Summary
Installation Technician IV responsible for structured cabling and installation of total integrated voice and data systems, networks, and wireless. Performs installations and maintenance of equipment, engineering of new projects, and installation of central office equipment including iron work, AC, transport equipment, and all infrastructures, with occasional outside-plant work. Manages inventory and calibration of tools, submits changes via ECR/Red Line, and develops method-of-procedure documentation for customer approval. Interfaces with customers and other vendors, plans and participates in project progression, ensures safety and quality, and coordinates lengthy installation activities with customers within maintenance windows. Travel up to 50% and work with a team to deliver timely, high-quality project outcomes. Must adhere to Telecommunication standards and Environmental, Health & Safety policies; willing to perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 6 years telecommunications training and/or experience
- Proficiency in telephony beyond standard parameters
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
- Mechanical aptitude
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to efficiently use a Windows-based computer
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and criminal background check
