Job Summary
Installation Technician responsible for structured cabling, installation of total integrated voice and data systems, networks, and wireless. Duties include completing additions/removals/changes/upgrades, maintenance of equipment and service contracts, engineering of new projects, coordination with customers, staging and inventory of tools and materials, ensuring accuracy of final paperwork, and delivering a quality, on-time, profitable product. Requires coordination with customers and vendors, travel up to 50%, and adherence to Environmental, Health & Safety standards. Strong emphasis on hands-on installation, testing, and quality assurance, plus ability to provide technical support and participate in project planning and progress meetings.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 6 years telecommunication training and/or experience
- Demonstrated proficiency and profitability at the Technician III level
- Exceptional ability in telephony outside general installation parameters
- Ability to think critically and solve problems
- Discretion with confidential/sensitive information
- Mechanical aptitude
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Windows-based computer proficiency
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and timely
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work solo and as part of a team
- Ability to pass drug screen and criminal background check
