Job Summary
Installation Technician focused on structured cabling and installation of integrated voice and data systems, networks, and wireless. Responsibilities include deployments, maintenance, upgrades, project engineering, equipment installation (including central office gear), tool inventory and calibration, documentation/paperwork, coordinating with customers and vendors, ensuring safety and quality, and providing technical support and planning input for projects. Requires hands-on field work with ability to lead tasks, communicate procedures, and adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety standards. Travel up to 50% and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Vocational/Technical Business School Desired
- Minimum of 6 years telecommunication training and/or experience
- Demonstrated proficiency and profitability at the Technician III level
- Exceptional ability in telephony outside the general parameters of installation and technical expertise
- Ability to think critically and problem solve
- Ability to handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion and good judgement
- Mechanical aptitude
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills
- Proficient with Windows-based computer
- Ability to prioritize and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work alone and with a team
- Ability to pass drug screen and criminal background check
