Job Summary
Install fiber optic cables and equipment in residential settings, perform site surveys to identify obstacles, and configure routers, modems, and optical network terminals. Troubleshoot signal loss, connectivity problems, and equipment malfunctions while educating customers on system maintenance and adhering to safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of all installation and repair activities. Requires a high school diploma, two years of fiber optic experience, proficiency with splicing machines and OTDRs, and a valid driver's license. Travel is necessary; ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends is required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber optic installation, maintenance, or a related field
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to travel to various job sites as required
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed
- TRAVEL NECESSARY based on location(s) supported
Desired Qualifications
- technical degree or certification in telecommunications, electronics, or a related field
