Job Summary
The Installation Supervisor oversees all phases of commercial fire alarm and life safety system installations from contract award through completion, including planning, coordinating, supervising, and supporting installation activities to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and adherence to codes and customer requirements. Serves as the primary liaison between field personnel, project stakeholders, customers, and internal departments; leads field technicians, installers, foremen, and subcontractors; provides training and coaching; maintains safety culture per OSHA and company policies; coordinates labor, materials, and scheduling; ensures compliance with NFPA codes and local AHJ requirements; manages budgets, reports, and documentation; communicates project status to customers and stakeholders; and participates in inspections, turnover, and post-installation follow-up. Key skills include project planning and coordination, blueprints/specs interpretation, leadership and team management, safety compliance, scheduling and budgeting, and effective customer communication.
Required Qualifications
- Experience supervising commercial fire alarm, fire protection, security, or low-voltage installation projects
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards, applicable codes, and installation best practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with project documentation, scheduling, and reporting
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
