Inspector - TRAVEL TEAM

Job Summary
Inspect fire sprinkler, alarm, extinguisher, hood, and special hazard systems across seven office locations using a rotating schedule. Perform required inspections of all associated components, accurately complete documentation, and identify deficiencies for corrective service. Lead large inspections and special projects while mentoring lower-level technicians. Maintain RME-I and TCEQ backflow licensing, manage inventory, and ensure safety compliance through timely submittal of JSAs and incident reports. Submit accurate timesheets and maintain company vehicles and tools.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hold the required NICET level for the trade
- Applicable/current Texas Department of Insurance license
- Current and valid Texas driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Acceptable criminal background
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sprinkler (installation/service experience is a plus)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in alarm (installation/service experience is a plus)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in extinguisher
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in hood suppression
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in special hazard
- FAL license
- Related work experience for special hazard
- Ability to take direction from upper management
- Ability to accurately complete and maintain all required paperwork
- Ability to maintain company vehicle and tools in accordance with company policy
- Ability to perform testing and maintenance
- Ability to identify and document inspection deficiencies and required corrective service
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to perform well under pressure while meeting scheduled timeframes
- Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with moderate supervision
- Strong customer service skills
- Great attention to detail

- Ability to work overtime, out of town, or on-call as needed

- Ability to maintain quality control to reduce return trips and warranty work

- Ability to be punctual and maintain excellent attendance
- Ability to hold RME-I license
- Ability to obtain and maintain TCEQ backflow licensing (B-PAT)
- Ability to cross-train in additional licensing duties to obtain multiple licenses
- Ability to lead large inspections and special projects
- Ability to mentor lower-level technicians in their pursuit of additional licenses and technical knowledge
- Ability to assist and/or fill in for the inspection manager as required
Desired Qualifications

- Strong understanding of materials, tools, equipment, and procedures used in the installation process
- Working knowledge of NFPA standards
- Knowledge of manufacturer installation manuals and requirements

- Ability to promote and support Stop Work Authority
- Ability to hold all fire licenses including RME-I, FAL, FEL-A, and B-PAT (Backflow Preventer)
