Job Summary
Inspect highway/bridges, facilities/buildings, or rail/transit projects to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and verifying contractor submissions. Identify and document nonconforming work and ensure timely corrective action; review project documentation including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and change orders; complete daily work reports with photographs and progress documentation; track and document quantities of work performed by the contractor; resolve construction problems in the field; communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including contractors, engineers, and agency representatives, to facilitate project success.
Required Qualifications
- NICET Level 1 with 4 years of experience in construction engineering and inspection
- Experience on transportation infrastructure projects preferred
- Strong understanding of CTDOT CEI processes, contract administration, and construction documentation
- Knowledge of construction materials and methods
- Ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to work on-site as needed
