Job Summary
Conduct in-process and final inspection of sub-assemblies and assemblies, including component insertion, solder/workmanship, harness, and conformal coating checks. Perform point-to-point buzz-out testing on wired assemblies and spare harnesses. Execute strip force tests, tensile strength tests, and tool inspections for crimping operations. Audit ionic contamination and conformal coating processes, including thickness testing. Manage configuration inspection and data entry for revision status. Interface with departments to solve manufacturing problems and assist with complex high-level inspections. Maintain records in compliance with company procedures and source inspection for vendor facilities.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 8-10 years related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- completely familiar with IPC-A-610
- completely familiar with IPC-A-620
- completely familiar with IPC J-STD-001
- throughout knowledge of engineering drawings
- throughout knowledge of specifications
- throughout knowledge of procedures
- ability to meet the requirements of the company-training program
- ability to identify ITAR product on the manufacturing floor
- understanding that access to ITAR products and related technical data is restricted to only US Citizens and US Permanent Residents
- recognition of Foreign Person visitors by badge differentiation
- understanding and following authorization procedures for bringing foreign visitors into facilities (VAL)
- understanding of the Export and ITAR requirements for shipments leaving the US
- ability to manage vendor approvals for ITAR manufacturing and services
