Inspector, RIT - 2nd Shift

Job Summary
Inspect incoming or disposition material to align with approved documents using statistical sampling, and examine items for defects in materials, workmanship, and transit damage. Generate Non-Conforming Events (NCEs) for non-conformances, identify and segregate non-conforming materials, and move heavy items with a pallet jack. Perform part history reviews, First Article inspections, and vendor-supplied documentation reviews to ensure product conformance. Assist with tracking work completion, NCE failure investigations, and developing action plans while maintaining compliance with quality requirements and the 7S program. Work Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in quality assurance or auditing in a distribution, manufacturing or distribution environment
- Ability to read/understand drawings and related quality procedures
- experience working with calibrated measuring instruments
- Basic skills using electrical and mechanical measurement tools
- Ability to read and write legibly
- Ability to interpret specifications to ensure product conformance of mechanical, optical and electrical components
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or technical degree
- Experience working with ISO9001
- ability to initiate the corrective action process for receivables
- 3 years of experience as a receiving inspector, including measuring components to drawing specs
- Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) and Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or industry equivalency in years of experience as quality inspector/technician (with documentation)
- Ability to demonstrate use of digital, dial and Vernier calipers, inside and outside micrometers, and depth and height gauges
