Job Summary
Inspect properties under the Housing Authority’s Inspection Program to enforce Housing Quality Standards (HQS) and NSPIRE/REAC criteria; investigate complaints, conduct site visits to homes and apartment buildings, issue notices of violation, perform follow-up inspections, and prepare documentation and monthly reports. Engage with residents and landlords to ensure compliance with housing, health, and safety regulations; collect and analyze property data, assist with program areas such as Section 8, TBRA/HOME, Mod Rehab, and related rental assistance programs; testify in court or administrative proceedings as needed; and assist with related duties including on-site maintenance, snow removal, and processing of permits and letters. Proficiently use office software to document findings, track violations, and communicate clearly with participants and management; possess knowledge of REAC/NSPIRE criteria, and demonstrate ability to read and enforce city, state, and federal codes and regulations while maintaining professional relationships.
Required Qualifications
- Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by specialized training in NSPIRE/HQS codes, public health, environmental regulations or a related field.
