Job Summary
Pack products into containers, seal and label packages, and prepare items for shipping or storage. Inspect materials and containers to ensure quality standards are met, identifying and reporting defects immediately. Operate or assist with machinery such as conveyors, starting and monitoring equipment while maintaining an organized workspace. Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including wearing PPE and following workplace safety rules, while communicating hazards to supervisors. Keep accurate documentation and meet production goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school / Grade 10 level education
- Little to some experience (0–1 year) in manufacturing/packaging
- Reading and understanding simple instructions
- Basic writing/communication
- Simple math (add, subtract, count, measure)
- Follow instructions and procedures
- Use common sense in routine situations
- Pay attention to detail
- Standing for long periods
- Using hands for repetitive tasks
- Light to moderate weight (up to ~50 lbs.)
- Walking, reaching, handling objects
- Close vision required
- Manufacturing/production setting
- Exposure to noise (moderate to high) and fumes or particles (in some cases)
- Fast-paced, production-driven environment
- Following workplace safety rules (e.g., Occupational Health and Safety Act)
- Wearing PPE (protective equipment)
- Reporting hazards or unsafe conditions
