Job Summary
Set project deadlines and perform daily field inspections to monitor conformance with quality, performance, specifications, and code requirements. Maintain inspection records, track quality assurance progress, and document deficiencies, non-conformances, and corrective actions required to meet contract specifications. Participate in punch lists, testing, and commissioning activities while coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and stakeholders to address inspection concerns. Prepare detailed inspection reports and provide input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers. Communicate findings and project status updates to project management and engineering teams. Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma plus 4 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education
- MDOT State Highway experience
- Valid US Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices
- As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience preparing monthly pay estimates, tracking quantities, and processing change orders
- Knowledge of SHA Standard Specifications, Standard Details, and construction manuals
- Experience reviewing contractor schedules and monitoring project progress
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, and document management systems
- Strong understanding of construction documentation, including daily reports, RFIs, submittals, and material certifications
