Job Summary
Inspector of Works (Mechanical) responsible for overseeing the installation and quality assurance of mechanical & electrical (M&E) systems in construction projects, working closely with the Resident Engineer. Duties include site supervision to ensure compliance with design specs and codes, reviewing method statements, material submissions, shop drawings, and as-built drawings, coordinating with contractors and project teams, providing technical guidance, participating in factory and site acceptance testing and commissioning, promoting safety on site, monitoring performance of M&E systems, and preparing inspection reports and project documentation. Requires a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and registration as an Inspector of Works with BEM, with at least 5 years of mechanical supervision experience; knowledge of mechanical systems and data center infrastructure is preferred; AutoCAD and BIM knowledge is advantageous; must have a valid driving license.
Required Qualifications
- A diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- Registration as an Inspector of Works with BEM
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical supervision, particularly in industrial or institutional developments
- Good knowledge of mechanical systems, data center infrastructure, and local construction practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD and BIM knowledge preferred
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A valid driving license
