Job Summary
Conduct day-to-day site inspections and supervision of electrical installation works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and relevant Malaysian codes and standards. Monitor quality of workmanship and materials, review technical documents for discrepancies, and witness testing, commissioning, and handover activities for systems including HT/LV power distribution and substations. Identify non-conformance issues, issue site instructions, and maintain accurate inspection reports and as-built documentation while coordinating with contractors, consultants, and authorities. Ensure all works adhere to safety regulations and permit requirements. Travel between project sites as required with a valid driving licence.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as an Inspector of Works (Electrical) or Inspector of Works (Engineering)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in site supervision of electrical services
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services, including HT/LV power distribution, substations, transformers, generators, lighting, earthing and lightning protection, UPS, and ELV systems
- Familiar with local authority requirements, Malaysian codes and standards, testing & commissioning, QA/QC processes, and construction best practices
- Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with contractors, consultants, clients, and project teams
- Valid driving licence
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required
