Job Summary
Perform mechanical integrity inspections as an API Inspector, evaluating conditions of pressure vessels, piping systems, and storage tanks. Responsibilities include generating reports, ensuring compliance with specifications, and utilizing digital tools for data management. Candidates must possess active API certifications (510, 570, 653) and a strong background in damage mechanisms, welding, and inspection intervals, along with solid communication skills. Travel and extended hours are required for this field-based position.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Technical Degree or Military Experience a Plus)
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening background check.
- Must be able to obtain TWIC, DISA, and/or other site access credentials.
- Active certification in at least one of the following: API 510, 570, 653
- Solid understanding of damage mechanisms, welding, pressure boundaries, and inspection intervals per jurisdictional and client requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to generate accurate reports and interface with multi-level stakeholders.
- Ability to travel, work extended hours, and operate in field environments including confined spaces, elevated work areas, and extreme weather.
- Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
Desired Qualifications
- Multiple Conventional NDT Level II/III certifications or ASNT/PCN/CGSB equivalencies.
- Multiple API certifications (510/570/653) or additional credentials such as: AWS CWI, AMPP, NBIC.
- Familiarity with RBI (Risk-Based Inspection), IDMS platforms, and digital inspection tools.
- Prior experience supporting turnaround inspections, capital projects, or long-term mechanical integrity programs.
- Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Sufficient personal mobility to maneuver in a standard, refinery or plant environment to include the ability to access elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells except when performing non-field duties.

- Sufficient vision or other powers of observation, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits employees to investigations.
